Job Description Specialist – Houston, TX

Location: Houston, TX 77002

Pay: $28.00 per hour | Weekly Pay

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time | Temporary Assignment (Open-Ended)

About the Role

Openwork is partnering with a respected government organization to hire a Job Description Specialist
. This is a unique opportunity for an HR professional with exceptional writing and analytical skills to help shape and maintain accurate job documentation across a large organization.

If you have experience in HR, recruiting, or job analysis and enjoy creating clear, well-structured content, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and maintain job descriptions for a variety of positions.
  • Conduct job analysis through interviews, questionnaires, and research.
  • Write and edit job descriptions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Support job evaluation and classification initiatives.
  • Review documents for compliance with organizational and legal standards.
  • Research industry and market information to validate job content.
  • Maintain and organize job description libraries and records.
  • Collaborate with departments and leadership teams to confirm job requirements and responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Previous HR or recruiting experience required.
  • Demonstrated professional writing and editing experience required.
  • Experience creating, revising, or publishing job descriptions required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Background in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field is a plus.
