Human Resources Manager
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and administering a broad range of HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, leave administration, training, policy implementation, and compliance. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, this position supervises HR staff, partners with managers to support business objectives, and ensures the consistent application of human resources policies, procedures, and employment laws.
The HR Manager provides operational leadership, fosters employee engagement, and supports organizational initiatives that promote a positive and productive workplace.
• Oversee the daily operations of the Human Resources department to ensure efficient, accurate, and responsive HR services.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop assigned HR staff, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and supporting professional development.
• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including workforce planning, job postings, candidate selection, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
• Serve as the primary HR resource for managers and employees regarding policies, procedures, benefits, leave administration, and employment practices.
• Provide guidance and support to managers on employee relations matters, performance management, corrective action, conflict resolution, and employee development.
• Investigate employee complaints and workplace concerns, recommending appropriate resolutions while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
• Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and HRIS transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Partner with Payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee data, compensation changes, and payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as organizational policies.
• Coordinate HR audits, maintain personnel records, and oversee required employment documentation and record retention.
• Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies, procedures, and best practices to promote consistency and compliance.
• Coordinate employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and training initiatives that support organizational culture and employee retention.
• Assist with compensation administration, including salary recommendations, market analysis, and job classification reviews.
• Analyze HR metrics and prepare reports to support informed decision-making and continuous process improvement.
• Lead HR projects and process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and the employee experience.
• Collaborate with the Senior Vice President on workforce planning, organizational changes, and other strategic HR initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Directly supervises assigned Human Resources staff.
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, evaluating performance, and recommending corrective action and employee development.
• Establishes work priorities, monitors workload, and ensures timely completion of departmental responsibilities.
• Promotes teamwork, accountability, and a high standard of customer service within the HR department.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or 4 years of directly related experience in lieu of the degree.
• Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible human resources experience.
• Experience in employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, leave management, performance management, and employment law compliance.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
• Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
• Experience supporting multiple departments or locations.
• Experience leading HR process improvement initiatives and employee engagement programs.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and supervisory skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with employees, managers, and executive leadership.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS platforms.
