Position Title: Human Resources Generalist

Job Description: The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in managing day-to-day people operations and driving HR strategies for designated teams, including fast-paced logistics operations. This role champions the full employee lifecycle—talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, training, and offboarding—while ensuring seamless execution of core HR functions such as safety, payroll support, benefits, and workers’ compensation. The position requires compliance with federal and state regulations and the use of HR data analytics to improve systems and provide actionable workforce insights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary HR partner to designated departments by providing full employee life‑cycle support including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, safety, leave administration and offboarding.
  • Build strong, proactive partnerships across teams to foster open communication, improve morale, and deliver tailored HR solutions.
  • Partner with managers as a trusted advisor to optimize organizational structures, drive talent development, and ensure smooth change management.
  • Lead various people, business operations, and organizational development initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other related projects and duties as assigned.
Talent Acquisition
  • Execute the full-cycle recruiting process: create job descriptions, review resumes, conduct phone screens, coordinate interviews, extend offers, and advise hiring managers.
  • Conduct new-employee orientation to engage and assimilate new hires into the company.
Policy & Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend best practices.
  • Review policies and practices to ensure compliance across assigned departments.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and execution of HR policies and procedures, serving as the primary contact for general policy questions.
Employee Relations
  • Assist managers and employees in resolving performance and conduct issues; provide counseling when appropriate.
  • Assist with investigations of sexual harassment allegations, discrimination charges, disputes, and other sensitive issues.
Learning & Development
  • Recommend, plan, and execute training programs for teams based on identified gaps or needs and maintain training records.
  • Support delivery of employee training related to compliance, interviewing, labor laws, sexual harassment, safety, etc.
  • Participate in safety committee and support safety initiatives, including training initiatives.
Benefits (Administrative Duties)
  • Administer benefit programs including annual open enrollment, new-hire benefit selection, COBRA, and communication with plan administrators.
Payroll
  • Support payroll process: approve and audit timecards, obtain manager approvals, and complete all reporting accurately and on time.
HRIS & Data Analysis
  • Track, analyze, and interpret key HR metrics (e.g., turnover trends, time-to-hire, employee engagement scores) to provide leadership with actionable insights.
  • Manage HRIS system integrity and lead the build of additional system capabilities to support the business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–6 years of HR generalist or HR business partner experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in full-cycle recruiting.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Thorough knowledge of labor and employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
