We’re partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization in Houston that is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its Human Resources team. This is a hands-on role supporting payroll, benefits administration, and employee onboarding for approximately 100 employees.

What You’ll Do:
- Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for approximately 100 employees.
- Review, audit, and correct employee timecards to ensure payroll accuracy.
- Prepare onboarding paperwork related to payroll and benefits.
- Administer employee benefits through Employee Navigator, including coordinating with the benefits broker to ensure new hires are properly enrolled.
- Process quarterly employee bonus payments.
- Manage wage garnishments and employment verification requests.
- Process 403(b) retirement plan contributions.
- Reconcile payroll reports and provide payroll support to the Accounting team.
- Respond to employee payroll and benefits questions while maintaining confidentiality.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
- Experience processing both bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, garnishments, payroll reporting, and benefits administration.
- Experience with Employee Navigator or a similar benefits administration platform is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Recent experience using Paylocity is strongly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
