Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $36.00/hr (DOE)
Position Overview:
LHH is proactively seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Benefits & Compensation Specialist to join our client's team on a contract basis in the Houston area. This role will support both benefits administration and compensation functions, with a strong focus on internal benefits operations, open enrollment, and compensation analysis. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing employee benefits programs, supporting open enrollment cycles, and conducting compensation benchmarking and analysis.
This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate across HR, payroll, and leadership teams.
- Administer day-to-day benefits operations, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries.
- Support and execute the full open enrollment process, including system setup, communications, employee support, and issue resolution.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding benefits questions, eligibility, and plan details.
- Maintain accurate benefits data in HRIS systems and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Partner with benefits vendors to resolve escalations, discrepancies, and coverage issues.
- Assist with benefits audits, reporting, and documentation for compliance purposes.
- Conduct compensation analysis, including market benchmarking, internal equity reviews, and pay structure assessments.
- Support salary surveys, job evaluations, and compensation planning initiatives.
- Prepare reports and presentations on compensation trends, pay data, and recommendations.
- Assist with merit cycles, bonus tracking, and compensation adjustments.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership on compensation strategies and policy alignment.
- Ensure confidentiality and data integrity across all benefits and compensation activities.
- Education:
High school diploma required;
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred. - Experience:
3+ years of experience in benefits administration and/or compensation. - Technical
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (data analysis, reporting, lookups). Experience with HRIS systems (Workday, ADP, UKG, or similar) preferred. - Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain benefits and compensation clearly to employees. - Organization:
Ability to manage multiple deadlines, especially during high-volume periods like open enrollment and merit cycles. - Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in data management, reporting, and employee records. - Analytical
Skills:
Strong ability to interpret compensation data, identify trends, and support decision-making. - Confidentiality:
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee and compensation data with discretion.
