Driver Recruiter

We are seeking an experienced Driver Recruiter in the Intermodal Trucking Industry to join our team! As we grow our presence in the container freight market and across rail-connected markets, Sunburst is hiring a Houston-based recruiter to support driver recruiting in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Savannah, Georgia.

Are you a highly motivated recruiter with hands-on Tenstreet experience and a record of recruiting qualified CDL drivers and owner-operators? We are seeking a self-sufficient professional who can immediately build driver pipelines and help develop Sunburst's long-term recruiting program.

• Own the driver recruiting pipeline across Houston, DFW, and Savannah from initial contact through qualification, orientation, and activation coordination.
• Recruit qualified CDL drivers and independent contractors/owner-operators, with emphasis on intermodal and drayage experience.
• Respond promptly to inbound leads and proactively source candidates through referrals, rehires, job boards, networking, and market outreach.
• Use Tenstreet as the system of record for candidate status, notes, documents, follow-up, source attribution, and reporting.
• Coordinate complete candidate files with Safety and Driver Administration while respecting Safety's final qualification authority.
• Schedule orientation and operational handoffs, confirm activation, and complete structured 30-day and 90-day retention follow-up.
• Maintain weekly recruiting reports covering pipeline activity, conversion, placements, retention, advertising performance, and market needs.
• Monitor driver-market conditions and industry trends and recommend recruiting strategies to Operations and leadership.
• Partner with Operations and terminal leaders on recruiting priorities, advertising, referral campaigns, outreach events, and periodic market travel.
• Complete additional recruiting, retention, and operational projects requested by management.

• Three or more years of successful CDL driver recruiting experience in trucking or transportation.
• Hands-on Tenstreet experience is required, including candidate workflow, documentation, follow-up, and reporting.
• Experience recruiting independent contractors/owner-operators; company-driver recruiting experience is also preferred.
• Working knowledge of driver qualification and onboarding workflows and the ability to partner effectively with Operations and Safety.
• Excellent phone presence and verbal and written communication skills.
• High urgency, persistence, organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a multi-market environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to maintain clear recruiting reports and metrics.
• Reliable transportation, ability to work in the Houston office, and ability to travel periodically as business needs require.
• Bilingual is preferred.

$65,000 annual salary plus performance-based retained-hire incentives. Expected annualized compensation during the initial growth phase is approximately $75,000-$80,000 at target performance. Full written incentive terms will be provided during the interview and offer process.

Houston, Texas - in-office position supporting Houston, DFW, and Savannah, Georgia, with periodic travel as needed.
