Payroll Specialist I

Our client, a leading organization in the industry, is seeking a Payroll Specialist I to join their team. As a Payroll Specialist I, you will be part of the Payroll Department supporting the payroll processing functions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Houston, TX

• Responsible for processing biweekly and monthly payrolls for a large employee base across various states.
• Reconcile earnings, deductions, and taxes, and submit audit reports for management review.
• Coordinate with managers to ensure timely approval of worked hours for non-exempt employees.
• Handle payroll input, tax adjustments, reclasses, and manual payments as needed.
• Manage payroll-related inquiries through the Case Management and Payroll Help Line, assisting HR, Benefits, and employees.

• At least 2 years of corporate payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of payroll principles including overtime and tax withholding calculations.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word with excellent organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
