Job SummaryMeneses Law, an Immigration Law firm, is seeking a Benefits and Payroll Specialist who plays a vital role within the HR Department. This position demands an individual who possesses a strong understanding of payroll practices, familiarity with setting up new jurisdictions, multi-state compliance, open enrollment, administration and management of benefits, and compliance requirements. The specialist will be responsible for accurate and timely processing of all types of employee compensation and benefits, including off-cycle payrolls, leave of absences, and reimbursement calculations.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant software systems.
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Review and validate employee timekeeping records, attendance data, and payroll inputs.
- Audit payroll records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage payroll files while collaborating with the accounting team for reconciliation.
- Work hand in hand with the HR Manager during Open Enrollment.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and other benefits.
- Manage/assign new hire time off policies in a timely basis.
- Assist and find resolutions for all employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and any other related inquiry.
- Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of employee compensation, benefits, and deductions.
- Monitor PTO balances and ensure proper recordkeeping.
- Assist employees and managers with PTO related questions and processes.
- Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Perform any other tasks or functions deemed necessary to the daily operations of the employer.
- Proven experience as a payroll and benefits specialist or similar role processing 100+ employees.
- In-depth well-rounded knowledge of payroll process and procedures, multi-state tax setups/regulations.
- Well-Rounded knowledge in benefits regarding open enrollment, management and administration of benefits.
- Proficient in ADP Workforce Now HRIS, Vendor and State portals, Microsoft Office Suite and MacOS systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Excellent understanding of HR operations (compensation, compliance, benefits, etc.).
- Understanding and adhering to KPIs and metrics.
- Able to type 45 WPM or more.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 2+ years of payroll and benefits experience.
- This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
- Occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
- Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- The ability to move and lift items up to 10 pounds.

Schedule:
Operational Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexibility to work 2 Saturdays a month. - Business Professional Work Environment
