* manager feedback: we are looking for candidates with less "hr experience" and more similar to a training coordinator, learning specialist, teacher/instructor, etc.
schedule: monday - friday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm - no overtime; this position will be 100% on-site
travel: domestic travel (ca, tx, la) may be required based on business demand
top skills required:
- this position will be 50/50 on analyzing data and coaching/explaining the data to management
- must have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- highly adaptable - must be able to adjust to learning curve on technology, data processing, and able to offer assistance to management
- must have an intermediate level of microsoft excel proficiency - able to do vlookups and pivot tables
- must have a professional demeanor and be a team player (small niche team who supports each other)
- must have stable tenure in previous work history; avoid submitting any job hoppers
interview process: 1st round will be a virtual interview. The candidate will be required to prepare a 10-minute presentation on a topic of their choice (relevant to the job). 2nd round will be an in-person interview.
job summary:
manage and administer competence activities including staff communication, liaison with internal and external personnel, software control and accurate record keeping to monitor the effectiveness of activities.
primary responsibilities:
- ensure competency records are created and maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
- review and update competency materials in line with the needs of the business.
- maintain and develop the competency system for the organization.
- monitor the deadlines and phases of the competency system.
- act as assessor and/or verifier.
- monitor, record, and analyze the effectiveness of competency training programs.
- perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- comply with all nov company and hse policies and procedures.
facility/group specific responsibilities:
- provide logistical and administrative support for all trainers.

education & experience qualifications:
- bachelor's degree preferred.
- professional work experience in the areas of competency, training, or employee development.

- continually evaluate the group's processes and methods to assure the most effective use of resources and equipment.
- provide daily supervision of employee job execution, including training, performance evaluation, and employee relations.
- liaise with customers and internal nov departments to define and arrange training requirements and schedules.
