Texas Regional Physicians (TRP) is a physician-led, multi-specialty medical group serving communities throughout the greater Houston area. TRP operates a network of outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgical facilities, and outpatient imaging centers, providing comprehensive primary care, orthopedic care, podiatric care and radiology services. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering a collegial, physician-driven practice culture that supports clinical autonomy, work-life balance, and long-term career growth.

Position

Summary

Texas Regional Physicians is seeking an experienced Physician Recruiter to lead full-cycle recruitment of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) across our multi-site network. The successful candidate will partner closely with practice leadership, department chairs, and administration to assess staffing needs, build a strong provider talent pipeline, and manage the recruitment process from initial sourcing through offer acceptance and onboarding handoff.

This role is central to supporting TRP's continued growth across orthopedics, pain management, imaging, and surgical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for physicians and advanced practice providers, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer negotiation.
  • Partner with practice leadership, department chairs, and administration to forecast staffing needs and develop specialty-specific recruitment strategies.
  • Source candidates through direct outreach, physician staffing firms, residency and fellowship program relationships, specialty society networks, and job boards.
  • Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of providers for current openings and anticipated growth.
  • Represent TRP at medical conferences, residency and fellowship fairs, and specialty society events to strengthen the organization's presence in target markets.
  • Coordinate candidate site visits, interview logistics, travel arrangements, and stakeholder debriefs.
  • Prepare and present competitive offer packages, negotiating compensation and terms within approved organizational guidelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of physician compensation benchmarks (MGMA, Sullivan Cotter) and regional market trends by specialty.
  • Track and report recruitment metrics including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness, and pipeline conversion.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and workflow within the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Coordinate closely with credentialing, licensing, payer enrollment, and onboarding teams to ensure a seamless transition from offer to start date.
  • Support visa sponsorship coordination (H-1B, J-1 waiver) for eligible candidates in partnership with immigration counsel.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with external search firms and locum tenens agencies as needed.
  • Ensure all recruitment practices comply with EEO, OFCCP, and applicable federal and Texas employment regulations.
Requirements Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-cycle physician or healthcare provider recruitment experience; multi-specialty medical group or health system experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting for hard-to-fill clinical and subspecialty positions.
  • Working knowledge of physician licensing, credentialing timelines, payer enrollment, and provider onboarding processes.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and physician sourcing platforms (e.g., iCIMS, Bullhorn, Practice Match, Doximity).
  • Understanding of physician compensation models, productivity incentives, and employment agreement structures.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion in handling confidential candidate and compensation information.
  • AIRS, CIR, or PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Ability to travel periodically for conferences, recruitment events, and site visits.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus performance-based incentive tied to placement and retention metrics.
  • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement plan with employer contribution (401(k)).
  • Paid time off and company-recognized holidays.
  • Employer-paid life insurance and short-term/long-term disability coverage.
