Manager – Human Resources (Site HR Business Partner, Houston Greenfield Manufacturing Site) Houston, TX | Onsite About the Site

Lilly is building a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Houston, TX for production of API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) molecules - the core compounds used to make our medicines. This facility is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities

This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site - you'll help build the organization, the facility, and the culture from the ground up, and be one of the first people to shape how this site runs.

About the Role

This individual contributor position will help implement initiatives that directly shape the site's employees, leaders, and culture - most of it from the ground up. You'll partner closely with the site HR Senior Director and site leadership, balancing the needs of employees, leaders, and the business as the site scales into GMP operations.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with the site HR Senior Director to design and execute the site's people strategy and HR initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic HR partner and day-to-day resource for site leadership and employees.
  • Own HR data, analytics, and reporting for the site - track key people metrics, spot trends, and present insights to the site leadership team.
  • Support core HR processes for the site, including talent management, succession planning, performance and engagement programs, recruiting, compensation, and the technical career-ladder promotion process - communicating progress across the organization and partnering with HR Centers of Excellence (COE) on these programs.
  • Support global staffing initiatives, including short- and long-term assignments, permanent international transfers, and cross-site training collaborations with other Lilly sites or external partners.
  • Design and deliver onboarding and new-employee orientation programs for the site.
  • Shape culture and leadership-development strategies that improve employee engagement and performance.
  • Contribute to Manufacturing & Quality (M&Q) HR projects across the broader Lilly network, sharing best practices and providing input on design and implementation.
  • Identify and drive continuous-improvement opportunities across HR and site processes, systems, and tools.
  • Support change management as the site grows - helping leaders communicate clearly and helping employees navigate periods of transition.
  • Be a visible, approachable presence on-site - building relationships
