Our Downtown Houston client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Benefits Supervisor
to lead the administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of employee benefits programs. This role will oversee day-to-day benefits operations while helping ensure programs remain competitive, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with the organization’s overall people strategy.

The ideal candidate brings strong benefits expertise, a solid understanding of regulatory requirements, and the ability to balance hands-on administration with team leadership and strategic planning. This individual will also serve as a key resource for employees, leadership, vendors, and internal partners.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
  • Analyze benefit plan performance, utilization, costs, and trends and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage relationships with benefit vendors, brokers, and other external partners, including contract and renewal negotiations.
  • Ensure benefit programs remain compliant with applicable regulations, including
    ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and FMLA
    .
  • Oversee benefit enrollments, qualifying life event changes, and employee claims support.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of benefits data within the HRIS and prepare related reporting and analysis.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor benefits budgets and associated expenses.
  • Lead employee benefits communications and education initiatives, including the annual open enrollment process.
  • Partner with leadership and HR on wellness initiatives, leave-related programs, and return-to-work efforts.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to benefits team members and specialists.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and enhance the overall employee benefits experience.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of benefits administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team oversight experience
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate benefit costs, trends, and plan performance
  • Experience managing vendors and negotiating benefit-related contracts
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
