Regulatory Compliance Specialist

This role supports the day-to-day execution of human resources programs and practices across North America, partnering with leaders and employees to deliver consistent, practical HR support. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, the position is responsible for helping maintain compliant and effective processes across employee relations, onboarding, performance support, policy administration, training coordination, and HR operations in a fast-paced life sciences environment.
Possible travel to support locations such as Detroit, Massachusetts, Kansas, Tennessee, and California may be required given business needs and circumstances.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment while working with managers and employees across routine HR activities and priorities.
Location Requirement:
Candidates must reside within the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT). While we consider applicants from most states, we are unable to hire in AK, HI, NM, ND, SD, RI, or VT.
- Support managers with day-to-day HR guidance, policy interpretation, and consistent application of HR practices.
- Facilitate core employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, job changes, and employee documentation.
- Handle employee relations matters, conduct prompt and objective investigations, and support resolution of workplace concerns.
- Assist with recruiting activities such as posting roles, preparing offer documentation, and supporting new hire onboarding.
- Support performance management processes, including review cycle administration, coaching documentation, corrective action tracking, and manager follow-up.
- Coordinate HR training and compliance activities, including policy communication, required training assignments, and recordkeeping.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and routine HR metrics to support sound HR practices and operational decision-making.
- Apply sound judgment in day-to-day HR situations, including interpreting policy, documenting employment matters, escalating risk appropriately, and supporting consistent, compliant execution across multiple locations.
- Prepare routine HR dashboards and reports, including use of tools such as Power BI and agentic AI to analyze workforce trends, improve reporting efficiency, and respond to manager and employee questions on policies, metrics, and incentive plan administration with clarity and accuracy.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable employment laws and HR best practices, escalating issues as needed.
- Manage Form I-9 processes, including completion, maintenance, documentation, and periodic I-9 audits to support compliance with U.S. employment eligibility requirements.
