Aegis Aerospace is currently looking for a Cyber Specialist to support the DHSTO contract located in Houston, TX. This role focuses on Information Assurance (IA) and Cyber Security support, including risk analysis, security testing, incident handling, and compliance with NASA and DoD IA policies.

• Conduct risk analysis, security tests and evaluations, and support Computer Security Incident Handling efforts.
• Determine actions required for all DoD payloads office computer systems to meet NASA and DoD IA policies, including latest security updates.
• Identify security gaps or findings of vulnerability, and assist in developing and executing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
• Support all DoD payloads office computer systems and networks, including secure network environments for satellite, ground, and launch systems.
• Perform annual self‑assessments and support external assessments of all security plans.
• Continuously identify non‑compliance and determine its impact on risk levels and the IA program's effectiveness.
• Track implementation details, write security plans, contingency plans, risk assessments, and apply results.
• Manage POA&Ms, Risk‑Based Decisions (RBDs), and shepherd an authorization package through the Authorization & Assessment (A&A) process.
• Sustain cyber authorization for existing systems and participate in payload meetings such as Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, and technical interchange meetings.
• Travel to KSC, payload customer locations, and other NASA or DoD sites; occasional international travel may be required.

• CISSP certification or ability to acquire within 6 months.
• Recent RMF experience, especially related to DoD.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
• Current or ability to obtain a Top‑Secret security clearance.
• At least 5 years of experience with NASA and/or DoD IT security environments.
• BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and a minimum of 10 years overall experience.
• Knowledge of NIST compliance (800‑171, 800‑53) and FIPS standards (199, 200).
• Familiarity with NICE Framework and NIST Special Publication 800‑181.
• Certified per DoD 8570.1 baseline IAT Level II, Security+, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience configuring Windows operating systems and PC software.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans.
• Strong knowledge of systems, networking software, hardware, and protocols.

• Recent eMASS experience.
• Working knowledge of virtualization (VMware or equivalent).
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Recent COMSEC experience.
• Experience accrediting a SCIF.
• JWICS and SIPR Accreditation knowledge.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Office tools.
