Front Office Developer

We are seeking a Python developer / data engineer with 3-5 years of experience, ideally with a bank, commodities trading company or utility, to support the petroleum trading group at Petro China International. This is a front‑office role focused on building practical tools and infrastructure for a fundamentally driven trading desk. You will work closely with traders and analysts to acquire data, organize it, and turn it into reliable, usable systems—without needing deep quantitative modeling expertise.

• Develop and maintain web‑scraping tools, automated data acquisition scripts, and ETL pipelines for fundamental market data.
• Build, enhance, and maintain core analytic SQL databases used by the trading team.
• Contribute to internal analytics platforms, APIs, and shared Python packages.
• Collaborate directly with traders and analysts to translate needs into dashboards, utilities, and business‑intelligence applicationsli>
• Ensure data quality, robustness, and reliability across all internal tools and workflows.

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity with Git and version control best practices
• Experience with web scraping frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Beautiful Soup)
• Experience with Airflow or other workflow schedulers
