Technology Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

As an Associate Technology Specialist you will be responsible for assisting in the management and maintenance of the organization's computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in IT administration and support.


JOB DESCRIPTION

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and hardware components
• Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues in a timely manner
• Assist in creating, modifying, and deactivating user accounts and access permissions
• Ensure proper access controls and security measures are maintained
• Assist in configuring and maintaining network devices, including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and assist in network infrastructure improvements
• Assist in implementing data backup strategies and perform routine backups
• Help with data recovery efforts in case of hardware failures or data loss incidents
• Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, including updates and licensing information
• Participate in hardware and software procurement and disposal processes
• Create and update system documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
• Keep records of system changes and configurations

• Work is conducted in a professional office environment with minimal distractions

Physical demands

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and performing work in front of a computer screen for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time

Required education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+)
• 2+ years of relevant experience
• Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and IT concepts
• Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and office productivity software
