The Lead S/4

HANA Technical Architect is the accountable owner for the end‑to‑end S/4

HANA technical landscape—spanning architecture, integration, data, security, and Dev Ops/operations. You will translate business strategy into a resilient, scalable S/4

HANA platform blueprint, lead technical design authority across work streams, and guide the delivery of brownfield transition programs. This role partners closely with functional leaders, basis/security teams, and integration/data teams to ensure S/4

HANA solutions are standard-first, secure-by-design, and cloud‑ready, while supporting high‑volume, multi‑entity operations.

• Define and maintain the target S/4
  
  HANA technical architecture (on-prem, hyperscaler IaaS, or RISE with SAP), including landscape tiers, HA/DR, and performance/scalability patterns.
• Establish integration reference architecture for SAP and non‑SAP systems (e.g., EWM, TM, IBP, CRM, WMS, TMS, MES, PLM, e‑commerce, tax engines), leveraging SAP BTP, API Management, Event Mesh, PI/PO/CPI, and modern API/event‑driven design.
• Govern extension strategy (in‑app, side‑by‑side on BTP, CAP/Node/Java, RAP/ABAP Cloud) to minimize core modifications and technical debt.

• Chair technical design reviews, enforce clean core principles, naming standards, and quality gates across custom code, integrations, forms, and RICEFW objects.
• Provide deep guidance on catalog/security design, and UX performance optimization.

• Lead technical work streams across implementation, rollout, and lifecycle (Fit‑to‑Standard, build, test, cutover, hypercare).
• Own environment strategy (DEV/QA/Pre‑Prod/Prod), release management, CI/CD, transport governance (CTS+, gCTS), and automated testing pipelines.

• Partner with Basis, Cloud, and Security to manage system operations, upgrades, patches, SAP Notes, and change control.
• Implement role‑based access control (SoD, GRC, audit readiness), encryption, secrets management, and vulnerability management.
• Define SLA/SLOs, monitoring (SAP Solution Manager/ALM, Focused Insights, Cloud ALM, Grafana/Prometheus), and incident response playbooks.

• 10+ years in SAP technical roles; 5+ years architecting SAP solutions with 2+ full‑cycle S/4
  
  HANA programs (brownfield preferred).
• Expert in S/4
  
  HANA technical stack:
  Basis, ABAP (incl. RAP/ABAP Cloud), Fiori/UI5, OData/REST, CDS, embedded analytics.
• Strong integration background: SAP BTP (CPI/Integration Suite, Event Mesh), PI/PO, API‑led and event‑driven patterns, IDoc/ALE, RFCs, webhooks, middleware (e.g., Mule Soft, Boomi), and message brokers (e.g., Kafka).
• Hands‑on cloud architecture (AWS/GCP), networking, security, HA/DR, backup, and cost optimization.
• Proven data migration leadership: data modeling, MDG principles, LTMOM/SDI/SLT, migration cockpit, data quality and reconciliation.
• Solid security & compliance acumen:
  SoD, GRC, audit (SOX), data privacy, key management, vulnerability remediation.
• Experience setting up CI/CD (Git, gCTS, Azure Dev Ops/Git Hub Actions/Jenkins), automated testing (ATC, abap
  
  Git, OPA5, Tricentis), and monitoring.
• Excellent communication; able to lead design workshops and align cross‑functional teams.

• Deep experience with EWM, TM, AATP, IBP, or Group Reporting.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 integrations (MES, scanners, scales, PLCs), high‑volume warehouse operations, and advanced ATP.
• SAP certifications: SAP Certified Technology Professional – System Security Architect, Development Specialist – ABAP for SAP HANA, Integration Suite.
• Familiarity with AWS with SAP commercials and operating models.
• Background with analytics (CDS views, SAC, BW/4
  
  HANA), and Master Data Governance.

• System reliability & performance:
  Availability, latency, E2E response times during peak operations.
• Clean core adherence: % custom objects compliant with extension strategy; retrofit effort reduction.
• Release cadence:
  On‑time releases, cycle time, rollback rate.
• Security posture:
  SoD violations, audit findings, patch SLA adherence.
• Cost efficiency:
  Cloud/SAP run‑rate vs. budget, right‑sizing and license utilization.
