Job Responsibilities
- Manage SQL Server databases across development, test, production, and disaster recovery environments
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server instances according to established standards
- Administer and support Postgre
SQL environments (additional RDBMS platforms a plus) - Perform and validate backups, restores, disaster recovery testing, and capacity/performance monitoring
- Troubleshoot SQL Server performance issues, blocking, connectivity, integrity concerns, and HA configuration challenges
- Support Always On Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, failover clustering, and related HA/DR technologies
- Collaborate with Infrastructure and Application teams to ensure database reliability, security, performance, and recoverability
- Develop and maintain automation using T-SQL, Power Shell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools
- Create and maintain administrative scripts for database maintenance, monitoring, and operational workflows
- Support database deployments in Azure and AWS environments
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops automation initiatives
- Manage incidents, service requests, and change requests through a ticketing system
- Provide real-time support for deployments and production issues
- Contribute to database standards, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience as a SQL Server DBA
- Strong expertise with SQL Server 2016–2022 (SQL Server 2025 experience is a plus)
- Hands‑on production experience with Postgre
SQL or MongoDB - Experience supporting Azure and AWS database services
- Strong knowledge of Always On Availability Groups and Distributed Availability Groups
- Experience with SQL Server in virtualized environments (VMware; Zerto is a plus)
- Strong scripting skills in T‑SQL and Power Shell (Python/Ansible preferred)
- Experience in SOX‑compliant or other regulated environments
- Dev Ops or automation‑focused background
- Experience supporting high‑transaction enterprise applications
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Solar Winds, Idera, Dynatrace, Grafana, etc.)
- Experience with additional open‑source databases
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Collaborative, customer‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving skills
- Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, and ability to meet deadlines
