Position SummaryThe Microsoft 365 Copilot Engineer is responsible for the deployment, governance, optimization, and operational support of Microsoft 365 Copilot and the broader M365 collaboration ecosystem. This role serves as the technical lead for Copilot and Copilot Studio agent development, ensuring secure integration across enterprise collaboration platforms. The position combines hands‑on engineering, governance enforcement, automation, and Tier 2/3 support within a highly confidential, high‑performance professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities Copilot Engineering & AI Enablement- Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft 365 Copilot across the enterprise, including tenant settings, licensing, feature configuration, and service monitoring
- Design, develop, and maintain custom AI agents using Copilot Studio to support business-specific workflows
- Configure data sources, connectors, permissions boundaries, and security guardrails to ensure compliant AI usage
- Identify high-impact productivity use cases such as document summarization, drafting support, meeting preparation, research workflows, and reporting automation
- Monitor Copilot adoption, performance, and operational health; recommend optimizations
- Administer and support enterprise Microsoft 365 services including Teams, SharePoint Online, One Drive for Business, and Exchange Online
- Manage tenant‑level configurations and integrations aligned to organizational standards
- Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation support for collaboration and Copilot‑related incidents
- Participate in change management processes, maintenance windows, and enterprise updates
- Participate in a 24x7 on‑call rotation for Priority 1 escalations
- Implement and enforce Microsoft Purview controls, including Data Loss Prevention, retention policies and labels, eDiscovery, and related compliance features
- Design and maintain governance frameworks for Copilot usage aligned with confidentiality and regulatory requirements
- Apply and manage permission models, access controls, and information barriers as appropriate
- Partner with security and risk teams to ensure AI solutions operate within defined guardrails
- Support audit readiness, policy documentation, and compliance reporting
- Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts to automate administration, reporting, and operational tasks
- Leverage Power Automate and Power Apps to streamline internal workflows and improve productivity
- Perform root cause analysis for complex platform issues and implement long‑term remediation
- Create and maintain documentation including SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, and technical design artifacts
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate workflow needs into secure technical solutions
- Provide training, enablement sessions, and guidance on responsible Copilot and M365 usage
- Collaborate with infrastructure, applications, security, and vendor teams to coordinate integrations and platform changes
- 3+ years of enterprise Microsoft 365 administration experience in a mid‑to large‑scale environment
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience deploying and managing Microsoft 365 Copilot in a production environment
- Experience building and maintaining Copilot Studio agents or comparable enterprise AI workflow solutions
- Strong operational expertise across Teams, SharePoint Online, One Drive for Business, and Exchange Online
- Practical experience configuring Microsoft Purview capabilities including DLP, retention policies, and eDiscovery
- Power Shell scripting experience supporting Microsoft 365 automation and administration
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex M365 collaboration and AI‑related issues at Tier 2/3 level
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience working with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Experience in professional services, legal services, finance, healthcare, or other confidentiality‑driven environments
- Familiarity with information barriers, ethical walls, and advanced permission governance
- Experience driving AI adoption initiatives within enterprise organizations
- Knowledge of change management and user enablement best practices
- Exposure to reporting, metrics tracking, and performance optimization within M365
