General Summary
The Digital Forensic Analyst will play a vital role in supporting investigations and prosecutions of human trafficking and child exploitation cases. This position requires an expert in digital evidence analysis to review, interpret, and organize sensitive data obtained from electronic devices. The analyst will work closely with prosecutors to prepare and present digital evidence for trial, ensuring accuracy and clarity in cases that rely heavily on forensic data rather than eyewitness testimony.
Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct forensic examinations of digital devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and computers, using industry-standard tools and software (e.g., Night Hawk, Cellebrite, Magnet AXIOM).
- Extract, process, and interpret large volumes of digital evidence to identify relevant case information in collaboration with investigators and prosecutors.
- Organize and prepare digital evidence for presentation in court, supporting prosecutors during trial proceedings.
- Maintain chain of custody and ensure compliance with legal and evidentiary standards.
Skills And Abilities
- Proficiency with forensic tools such as Night Hawk, Cellebrite, and other mobile device analysis platforms.
- Strong understanding of data recovery, file systems, and mobile operating systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive and graphic material with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- This is a full-time office position. Standard work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in scheduling may be possible based on departmental needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Forensics, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in digital forensic analysis, preferably in law enforcement or prosecutorial settings.
- $70,449.00 annually
