Asset Management Specialist

Buzz Clan is seeking a detail-oriented Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst to join our team in Houston, TX (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will optimize software assets, ensure compliance, and drive cost efficiencies across enterprise licensing.

• Manage software license tracking, allocation, reconciliation, and compliance audits
• Conduct true-up preparation, renewal management, and usage optimization
• Handle onboarding/offboarding governance, access controls, and license reclamation
• Develop advanced reports and dashboards using Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP), SQL, and Power BI
• Perform license utilization analysis, cost optimization, and forecasting
• Implement SAM governance frameworks, policy development, and audit readiness
• Coordinate license requests with Procurement, Contracts, and Finance teams
• Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Helpdesk, Security, and Leadership
• Support vendor contract reviews and enterprise-wide cost-reduction initiatives

• Proven experience in Software Asset Management and license compliance
• SQL knowledge for data extraction and validation
• Power BI expertise for reporting and executive visualizations
• Hands‑on experience with:
  • Service Now ITAM/ITSM
  • Remedy
  • SCCM/Configuration Manager
  • Active Directory
  • Office 365/Microsoft Admin Center
  • Share Point
• Strong understanding of vendor licensing models (Microsoft M365, Office 365, third‑party software)
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Must be eligible to obtain SECRET clearance
