Job Description
Rothe is seeking a skilled Open Shift/Linux Administrator to join our team in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing and maintaining Open Shift environments, along with solid Linux system administration expertise. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our Open Shift clusters and supporting infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy, configure, and maintain Open Shift Container Platform clusters.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Open Shift environments to ensure high availability and performance.
- Integrate and manage object data storage solutions to support containerized and Linux workloads.
- Maintain and administer Linux servers supporting Open Shift infrastructure, including patching, upgrades, and security hardening.
- Automate routine tasks and deployments using scripting and configuration management tools.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to support containerized applications.
- Implement and maintain security best practices within Open Shift and Linux environments.
- Perform backup and disaster recovery operations for Open Shift clusters.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Open Shift Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong Linux system administration skills (Red Hat, CentOS, or similar distributions).
- Experience with container orchestration and management using Open Shift.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts and architecture.
- Knowledge of networking, storage, and security concepts related to container platforms.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or similar.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in Open Shift Administration or equivalent certification.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops practices.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.

- Salary range: $92,000–$110,000 annually
