Senior Security Engineer

Our Financial Services Client in North Houston is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join their team. This individual will play a key role in strengthening security posture through automation, vulnerability management, and continuous improvement of our defensive capabilities. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical expert who enjoys solving complex problems, building scalable solutions, and driving proactive security initiatives across the organization.

• Work extensively with the organization’s vulnerability management program, focusing on identification, prioritization, remediation, and reporting of vulnerabilities across systems and applications.
• Create and optimize custom scripts and tooling using Power Shell and Python to automate security processes and integrations.
• Collaborate with IT, Dev Ops, and application teams to ensure timely remediation of vulnerabilities and configuration issues.
• Perform ongoing security assessments of infrastructure, endpoints, and cloud environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of security controls, processes, and monitoring capabilities.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

• 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2+ years in a senior or lead security engineering role.
• Advanced scripting and automation skills with Power Shell and Python (required).
• Proven experience with vulnerability management platforms (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, Wiz, etc.).
• Strong understanding of network, endpoint, and cloud security principles.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, GSEC, CEH, OSCP) are a plus but not required.
