IT Project Manager – Infrastructure, Cactus Wellhead

This is a Cactus Wellhead position located in Houston, TX. Hybrid schedule: 4/1.

Job Summary

The Project Manager, IT Infrastructure is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering technology projects that support IT infrastructure. The role ensures projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals. The individual will act as liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to drive successful implementation, enhancement, and integration of business applications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycle for IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define scope, and establish project objectives.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Oversee and coordinate service continuity and interim operational support during post-transaction activities, integration or separation phases, and for divested or acquired entities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (business, IT, vendors) to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Monitor project risks, issues, and dependencies; implement mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and communication with executives and stakeholders.
  • Ensure deployments comply with security, compliance, and organizational standards.
  • Facilitate testing, change management and coordinate go‑live activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and post‑implementation support.
Education, Training, Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with a focus on IT infrastructure, networking, or cybersecurity projects.
  • Demonstrated success leading infrastructure deployments, upgrades, or migrations in complex environments.
  • Proven experience supporting IT infrastructure transitions during mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
  • Solid understanding of IT operations, systems administration, and enterprise networking.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Planner, Jira, Dev Ops).
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification preferred.
  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL) are a plus.
Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components (servers, storage, networking, cloud platforms, cybersecurity).
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) as applied to infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with system integration, infrastructure upgrades, and operational continuity planning.
  • Understanding of IT governance, compliance, and security requirements.
  • Exceptional project planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Advanced problem‑solving and critical thinking with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute operational continuity plans under aggressive timelines.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and vendor coordination skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May provide direction to project team members, engineers, and vendor partners during project execution.
  • Responsible for coordinating cross‑functional work but may not have direct supervisory authority.
  • Provides feedback on performance and project contributions to team leaders and management.
