Job Title
Network Systems Administrator
Job PurposeThe Network systems administrator provides day‑to‑day technical support to employees, laptop/desktop systems, software, phones and network infrastructure. Monitor, upgrade, install and troubleshoot servers, including VM environment, computers, networks, networking hardware devices, supports and maintains system backups, user and server security, user account management, e‑mail systems, Active Directory environment, internet access, office systems, internal and external customer support.
Nature of Duties- Maintaining and supporting the Desktop environment, installing, configuring and troubleshooting desktop and laptop systems, printers, workstations, peripheral equipment and network issues in a heterogeneous, fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Maintaining passwords, data integrity and file system security for the desktop environment.
- Communicating technical information to both technical and nontechnical operations personnel.
- Recommending hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades.
- Creating user accounts.
- Imaging PCs and laptops.
- PBX Telecommunications support, setup & program phone switch, configuration and maintenance of the voicemail system. Desktop phone support in a VOIP environment, and cell phone user support.
- Resolving anti‑virus/anti‑spam issues on user computers.
- Working with customer systems to resolve network related issues.
- Providing “help desk” support, resolving user problems with desktop applications, workstations and peripheral equipment.
- Installing and maintaining application and desktop software products.
- Installing and supporting label printers and barcode scanners in the manufacturing environment.
- May participate in the development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
- Perform orientation and training of new FIT staff, coaching and mentoring of tech support personnel.
- Monitor local network for outages and performance problems, coordinate with internal and external teams as needed.
- Maintain strong relationships with plant management to identify customer needs.
- Review security reports and resolve vulnerabilities.
- Maintain server hardware and software, apply monthly patches.
- Maintain and monitor server backups and resolve failures as needed.
- Upgrades, installs and maintains IT environmental monitoring equipment. Monitor servers for outages and resource alerts, resolve as needed.
- Install network equipment as needed, including switches, routers, firewalls, etc.
- Identify requirements for and implant VLANs and DMZs following best practices.
- Work with internal and external IT groups including customer, engineering, and network teams.
- Create and maintain good technical documentation.
- Coordinate with corporate teams as required.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Provide reporting for audits as required.
- The ability to participate in a 24x7 on call rotation.
- G Suite/Gmail familiarity.
- 2 to 3 years experience in a Windows/Chrome
OS environment. - Experience with: MS Office products; AD Users and Computers Account Administration; MS Security Administration;
Intermediate knowledge of networking (Cabling, switches, VLANs);
Anti‑Virus software and vulnerability mitigation;
Disk‑imaging products;
Basic Knowledge of VM environments;
Server Operating Systems (2008‑2022). - Certificate/diploma from college or technical school, or a minimum two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range (annual): $55,000 - $75,000. Actual base pay within this range will be based on a candidate’s years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package. The total rewards package also includes health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending on the role, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
