Business Systems Analyst - Children's Learning Institute

Overview

UTHealth Houston and Children's Learning Institute are looking for their next Business Systems Analyst! This role serves as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, product teams, and technology teams to drive the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of business processes, digital products, and data-driven solutions. The Business Systems Analyst partners with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to identify business needs, define requirements, and deliver scalable, user-centered solutions across platforms such as CLI Engage and TECPDS.

The role leverages business process analysis, data insights, and emerging technologies (including cloud services and AI-enabled tools) to recommend and implement improvements that enhance user experience, operational efficiency, and system performance.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis expertise, Agile experience, proficiency in tools such as Jira or Service Now, working knowledge of data analysis (Excel, SQL), familiarity with APIs and integrations, and exposure to modern cloud and AI technologies, along with exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred qualifications include certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, CSPO, CSM), experience with SaaS or enterprise applications, and backgrounds in education technology, workforce development, government systems, or UX/UI collaboration.

Experience with Atlassian, Post Man, Question Pro as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or related role in a tech-driven environment is preferred. Scrum/Dev Ops experience preferred.

Designs, develops and implements new or enhanced business processes in support of new or enhanced information systems and technology. Provides the business expertise in support of business process changes for information systems projects. Identifies opportunities for business process improvement and initiates projects to make improvements with or without deploying information technology.

• Analyzes current business processes, suggests improvements and participates in design of new business processes and systems.
• Conducts business systems analysis and design, data modeling, process flow modeling, and process reengineering. Analyzes business processes and reviews existing information systems. Interviews users. Analyzes process flows, identifies opportunities for improvement. Maps existing business processes. Documents existing business processes and business rules.
• Prepares business cases including cost/benefit analysis for proposed processes.
• Participates in the design of new systems that support business processes. Designs and implements new or improved business processes. Reviews new systems designs and functions. Compares differences between existing systems and new systems. Designs system modifications. Designs interfaces to other systems. Identifies data, interfaces and tests requirements.
