Help Desk Technician – Houston, TX
Join Jay Group at our new Houston facility in support of our fulfillment operations.
Location:
Houston, TX (77040)
- Serve as the point of contact for employees’ IT issues and manage help desk tickets in a timely manner.
- Perform remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques and questions with customers.
- Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and FAQs to resolve issues.
- Guide customers through the problem‑solving process, empowering them to resolve future issues.
- Resolve more complex issues in‑person, providing technical support over chat, phone, or in‑person.
- Install and update software, supervise data integrity, and support data transfers or file sharing.
- Set up and configure new and repaired devices, including warehouse devices, printers, and computers.
- Manage assets, maintain inventory records, and inspect hardware.
- Support operations by supplying functional devices and evaluating broken equipment for repair.
- Escalate unresolved issues to higher‑level support personnel.
- Diagnose technology problems related to business processes.
- Assist Network Engineers with lighter duties when needed.
- Participate in a support (on‑call) rotation, handling calls during nights and weekends.

- High school diploma with at least 1 year of computer‑related experience, and 2 years in a help desk environment.
- Clear understanding of PC components, databases (SQL/ODBC), and scripting tools (.bat, .sql, Power Shell). Windows command‑line proficiency.
- Strong organizational, communication, and Microsoft Office skills.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, detail‑oriented, punctual, and reliable.
- Reliable transportation to meet shift hours and willingness to work overtime (especially during Q4), and availability for on‑call duty.
- Associate degree in computer science or CompTIA A+ certification preferred.
- Must submit a background check, be at least 16 years old, and be eligible to work legally in the United States.
