Job Summary
The Senior IT Network Administrator at Community is critical in managing the day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of the organization’s IT network infrastructure, including switch strategy, network analysis tools, wireless strategy, load balancer strategy, firewall strategy, and both on‑premises and cloud environments. The role requires an expert who uses advanced network analysis tools to monitor reliability, performance, and security of the network systems, architecting secure, resilient, and scalable solutions that connect corporate offices, regional sites, project sites, data centers, disaster recovery sites, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
The Administrator will collaborate closely with other IT teams to implement upgrades and enhancements that align with the organization’s strategic goals and will communicate effectively to resolve network issues proactively.
- Plan and implement network, security, and related IT infrastructure projects.
- Design and implement multi‑data‑center network strategies focusing on redundancy, high availability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Oversee configuration and management of switches, wireless access points, load balancers, and firewalls to ensure optimal performance.
- Lead the management of LAN, WAN, WLAN, load balancers, and firewall infrastructure.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network and security issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network hardware, software, and circuit‑related incidents in collaboration with carriers and vendors.
- Plan and implement network upgrades and enhancements with IT team members to meet emerging needs.
- Lead network projects and assist with IT networking projects as a partner.
- Work closely with service desk personnel, infrastructure teams, and external partners to deliver high‑quality IT services.
- Manage and maintain enterprise firewalls, including Palo Alto features such as Wildfire, Global Protect VPN, threat prevention, and advanced security profiles.
- Utilize network analysis tools to monitor performance and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
- Analyze issues to determine appropriate action plans and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation and assessments of LAN, WAN, WLAN, load balancers, and firewall infrastructure.
- Lead incident management of all network-related issues.
- Create schedules, project timelines, and present progress reports to stakeholders.
- Take on additional tasks as required to achieve network excellence.
- Associate degree or eight years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- ITIL certification required (or obtain within six months of hire).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; CCNP, ACE‑4, PCNSE, or equivalent preferred.
- Six years of network management experience, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, load balancer, and firewall management.
- Experience with vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Meraki, Avi, and Palo Alto.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
