Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Warehousing, Business Systems/ Tech Analyst
Are you an enterprise data leader who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and technical architecture? Do you look at a complex operational footprint and instinctively see how to transform raw field activity into high-value data assets?
The Analytics Data Architect is a high-visibility, senior role within the Operations Business Optimization group. This team serves as the critical connective tissue for our organization - acting as a strategic translator and partner to both field operations and our corporate Digital/IT organization. Rather than working in an isolated silo, you will be the driving force that aligns field realities with enterprise-grade data technology.
In this role, you will design and own the data blueprint for an expansive operational ecosystem. You will orchestrate the ingestion of data from Snowflake into a centralized analytical warehouse, synthesizing inputs from telematics, enterprise ERP/CRM platforms, and custom business applications. Crucially, your strategic vision will guide full-cycle data architecture—ensuring our data models seamlessly support and integrate with downstream applications, specifically Power Apps and Dataverse, to power automated workflows and operational tools.
This position demands a rare combination of technical sophistication and corporate diplomacy. You will proactively build collaborative data governance with business leaders, while skillfully navigating the structured processes, change-management protocols, and technical queues of a mature corporate IT environment.
1. Enterprise Architecture & Strategy
- Data Estate Vision: Own the architectural roadmap for the operations data warehouse, designing scalable structures that handle existing nightly and hourly batches while preparing for future real-time integrations.
- System Integration Mapping: Trace and map complex data lineage across a diverse ecosystem, ensuring upstream transactional applications, core enterprise ERP/CRM data tables, and field telematics systems integrate cleanly into a unified data layer.
- Unified Semantic Modeling: Architect, scale, document, and govern the central Operations Analytics Unified Semantic Model, creating a single source of truth that field users can trust implicitly.
- Technology Adaptation: Leverage your deep expertise in enterprise data warehousing to learn, apply, and maximize the capabilities of our Microsoft Fabric platform, optimizing its components to support high-velocity operations reporting.
- Collaborative Data Governance: Work hand-in-hand with field operations and business partners to co-create an agile, collaborative data governance framework. Navigate conflicting business definitions to establish clear, standardized KPIs.
- IT Navigation & Advocacy: Act as the politically savvy, technically credible liaison to our corporate Digital/IT team. Successfully advocate for the business by navigating rigid ticketing queues, strict change-management protocols, and complex IT environments to secure necessary data source additions or updates in Snowflake.
- Business Transformation: Actively engage with operations leadership to identify data gaps, surface new analytical opportunities, and translate complex field logistics challenges into structured technical requirements.
- Power BI Data Architecture: Design robust, high-performance Power BI tabular data models and efficient DAX calculations that scale smoothly for self-service exploration and executive-level dashboarding.
- Application Data Harmony: Ensure data warehouse models are architected with a deep understanding of transactional data behavior, creating clean feedback loops with operational business applications.
- Systems Thinker: An innate ability to look at an enterprise-scale logistics business and understand how a change in a field application impacts data flows all the way through to executive reporting.
- Strategic Autonomy: Comfortable working in ambiguous spaces, driving projects forward with minimal supervision, and establishing consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- The Diplomat Personality: Exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ) and diplomacy. You have a proven ability to remain patient, focused, and effective when working with structured, formal IT processes, while maintaining the agility needed to support fast-paced business operations.
- Enterprise Data Modeling Mastery: Expert-level understanding of relational database structures, dimensional data modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas), and enterprise data warehouse patterns.
- Business Application Architecture & Design: Strong understanding of relational application database design, with specific experience modeling data structures to support transactional business applications, with preference given to professionals familiar with the Microsoft Power Platform environment.
