We are seeking a Telecom Administration Specialist to support a university telecommunications initiative involving the review, validation, and maintenance of phone number allocations across multiple academic and administrative departments. This individual will serve as a liaison between Network Services leadership and departmental stakeholders, ensuring telecom records are accurate, current, and aligned with business needs.

The ideal candidate combines strong telecom systems knowledge with excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Success in this role requires the ability to work independently, engage professionally with department leadership, and manage data accuracy across a complex organizational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit and validate phone number assignments across university departments.
  • Research, document, and update telecom records to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Communicate directly with department representatives to verify current phone system usage and requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Network Services and departmental stakeholders throughout the audit process.
  • Identify discrepancies, recommend corrections, and coordinate updates within telecom systems.
  • Track inquiries, issues, and requests through established ticketing and support processes.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of findings, updates, and completed actions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement approved telecom changes.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience administering telecom systems, preferably Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM/Call Manager).
  • Strong understanding of telecom inventory management, phone number provisioning, and telecommunications data administration.
  • Experience working with help desk or IT service management ticketing systems.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with technical teams, department leaders, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing large data sets and records.
  • Ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and drive resolution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Request Tracker (RT) or similar ticketing platforms.
  • Experience working in higher education or large enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with Infoblox and DNS administration.
  • Experience supporting telecom audits, inventory reconciliation, or telecommunications migrations.
