We are seeking an Audio-Visual Specialist to support the Information Systems team at the School of Public Health. This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a multi-site videoconferencing environment and supporting students, staff, and faculty with both in-room and virtual meetings.

Key responsibilities include setting up and maintaining conference rooms and instructional spaces, supporting virtual meetings across platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other conferencing technologies. The role requires regular hands‑on work with audiovisual hardware and software, including troubleshooting and providing on-site technical support to end users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of a multi‑site videoconferencing network.
  • Schedule and deliver video conference events, ensuring on-time network connectivity.
  • Provide on‑call support to diagnose and resolve dropped connectivity during class offerings at remote and central locations.
  • Coordinate with IS technology specialists as needed.
  • Direct work assignments, schedules, and equipment inventory management for the Video Communications Technician.
  • Provide videoconferencing equipment training to conference center users.
  • Operate audio‑visual equipment.
  • Recommend equipment and software purchases based on research and performance data.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience). Minimum education requirement meets equivalence.
  • At least 3 years of related experience working with Audio‑Visual equipment.
  • Solid understanding of AV signal flow, microphones, camera systems.
  • Experience in a service‑oriented environment working directly with clients.
  • Working knowledge of QSC Q‑SYS and Microsoft Teams preferred.
Physical Requirements

Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive

This position is a security‑sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code and related statutes. The role requires the holder to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure.

Residency Requirement

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas. This role requires on‑site presence.
