Help Desk Intern - Texas United Management Corporation

- Responding to tech inquiries via ticketing system, email, online chat, over the phone, or in person.
- Informing and training customers on IT products and services.
- Walking customers step-by-step through the problem‑solving process.
- Maintaining accurate records of interaction with customers and recurring user problems.
- Communicating customer feedback to the appropriate internal team members.
- Following up with customers as needed to ensure any problems are resolved.
- High School diploma plus some college or technical certifications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. We regularly interact with business owners, plant managers, VPs, and C-level executives. Eighty percent of our job is to ensure the end users are satisfied, listen to them, and keep them informed about whether we can resolve their issue or if we need to provide an alternative solution. Thus, communication skills and time management are crucial for this role.
- Able to lift and move moderately heavy items like computers, printers, and monitors.
- This position typically follows an 8-hour workday, Monday-Friday, with specific hours determined by the supervisor.
- Physical requirements are typical for an in-office environment. Computer, email, and phone‑related tasks account for over 80% of the typical workday. Physical requirements include acceptable close vision, fine motor skills associated with typical computer work, communications, and the ability to focus for long periods mentally.
- Must handle multiple communication inputs and juggle numerous requests daily.
- Must create and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors, customers, and peers across the team and company.
- Reports to Texas United Management Corporation’s IT Senior Manager – Operations.
- Must be able to complete and pass post‑offer checks, including, but not limited to, background, drug, references, and education.
