Primary Services is actively recruiting for a Contracts Advisor to support our prestigious client in the energy industry. This is a high-impact role for a contract management professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to lead process improvements and contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives. You’ll engage directly with legal, procurement, and cybersecurity teams while shaping the evolution of contracting practices through advanced technology and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Enhance contracting processes through strategic redesign and the integration of new technologies.
- Utilize contract management platforms and contribute to the development of an AI playbook to improve contract quality and cycle times.
- Ensure contracts are compliant with company policies and meet high standards of operational excellence.
- Align contract strategy with company goals through cross-departmental collaboration.
- Collaborate with Legal, Procurement, Cybersecurity, and HSE to identify and mitigate contract risks.
- Provide expert-level support and mentorship within the contracts function.
- Support complex sourcing events, M&A activity, and other strategic projects.
- Develop and implement policies that improve compliance and support strategic initiatives.
- Lead the creation and adoption of category strategies with measurable business impact.
- Manage high-risk, high-value contracts and foster long-term stakeholder relationships.
- Drive adoption of best practices in contract strategy across the enterprise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (may be waived based on experience).
- At least 7 years of contract management and negotiation experience within a large organization.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in direct or indirect procurement.
- Proficient in identifying operational inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.
- Extensive knowledge of category management and contract negotiation methodologies.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with multiple stakeholders including Legal, IT, and HSE.
- Proven ability to assess, manage, and mitigate contractual risks.
- Experience deploying contract management systems or similar business tools.
- Strong strategic planning and execution skills aligned to enterprise goals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
