SAP Principal Analyst
The SAP Principal Analyst reports to SAP Manager – Lead to Cash within Lyondell Basell's ERP Modernization. This mid‑career role is responsible for technology innovation, implementing best‑in‑class solutions and ensuring stable operation in the Supply Chain domain.
The SAP Principal Analyst will be a key contributor to LYB's enterprise S/4 implementation program focused on Produce to Deliver processes. The technology footprint includes SAP solution suite – ECC, S/4, and connected applications.
The role involves partnering with Supply Chain, Order Management, Logistics and Trade Compliance and other functions to identify fit‑for‑purpose IT solutions, coach junior analysts, and collaborate with Digital Technology’s Business Interface, Enterprise Architecture and Project Delivery groups. The candidate should have a proven record of leading and working in global multi‑cultural teams, creating, scaling and operating enterprise Produce to Deliver solutions in SAP ERP and integrated applications, implementing S/4, and managing SAP operations.
Key Responsibilities- Key contributor in ERP modernization through S/4 implementation, involved in all phases from preparation through execution and operations.
- Design, build, test and deploy end‑to‑end solutions that meet business requirements, industry and LYB standards.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Logistics and Trade Compliance departments to gather, analyze, and translate business needs into detailed functional specifications.
- Configure SAP and design integration with connected applications.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and provide solutions.
- Responsible for connected applications such as SAP Transportation Management, SAP Global Trade Services, non‑SAP logistics, transportation, trade compliance apps and others.
- Supervise work done by application maintenance partners and system integrators; ensure quality of solution.
- Proactively identify opportunities for automation and standardization to optimize business operations.
- Ensure adherence to LYB standards and industry best practices.
- Oversee incident resolution working with application maintenance provider to ensure timely resolution of issues and effective communication with business stakeholders.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain solution documentation; improve documentation where required, creating Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs).
- Build solution roadmap by aligning SAP technology with business goals.
- Continue to grow knowledge of regulatory requirements and SAP innovations.
- Train and coach others.
Be ready to travel approximately 20% domestically and internationally, if required by the company.
Essential Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering, or other related disciplines.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in SAP functional design, with a deep focus on the SAP Supply Chain suite.
- End‑to‑end implementations on SAP S/4 and multi‑country rollouts.
- Deep expertise in end‑to‑end Lead to Cash and Produce to Deliver processes, including order management, transportation planning, sourcing, order fulfillment and delivery, inventory management, fleet management, and trade compliance.
- Strong proficiency in SAP S/4
HANA. S/4
HANA certification is necessary. - Knowledge of SAP architecture, market trends, operations and business drivers.
- Ability to propose and present a convincing business case and product roadmap to senior leaders.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in managing operations of a portfolio of SAP solutions and connected applications, in partnership with an external party.
- Experience managing SAP projects is preferable.
- Experience managing ITIL‑based support (Incident, Problem, and Change Management) using tools like Service Now or SAP Solution Manager and ALM.
- Experience collaborating with global teams across time zones.
