Job Description
Job Title: IT Technician Trainee (Temporary)
Reports To: Technology & Ops Manager
Organization: Tejano Center
Division: RYSS Texas Public Schools
Location: District Office
POSITION SUMMARYThe IT Technician Trainee is a temporary position designed to provide hands‑on experience while supporting the organization's day‑to‑day technology needs. Under the guidance of the IT Contractor and leadership, the trainee assists with basic technical support, computer setup, troubleshooting, and maintaining technology equipment across campuses and departments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEMinimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Interest in Information Technology or related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Windows computers and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and work independently with guidance.
- Ability to lift and move technology equipment up to 30 pounds.
- Provide basic technical support for computers, printers, and other technology devices.
- Assist with setting up computers, laptops, and user accounts for new employees.
- Install and update software as directed.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues and escalated complex issues when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of computers, accessories, and technology equipment.
- Assist with technology projects, equipment deployments, and campus moves.
- Maintain basic IT documentation and records.
- Provide excellent customer service to staff.
- Follow all technology, security, and confidentiality procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work in an office and school environment supporting multiple campuses.
- Frequently walk between classrooms, offices, and campus locations to provide technical support.
- Lift, carry, and move computers, monitors, printers, and other technology equipment (up to 30 pounds).
- Occasionally travel between Tejano Center and RYSS campuses to install, maintain, or troubleshoot technology.
- Use standard office equipment, computers, and technology tools daily.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities and multiple support requests.
- Occasionally work outside of regular business hours to assist with technology installations, upgrades, or emergencies.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent customer service while supporting staff and students.

Salary: MIN: $16/hourly MAX: $18/hourly
