IT Business Analyst
Position Summary
The Financial Applications Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of TGNR’s financial application portfolio, with primary responsibility for supporting the Quorum Upstream ERP platform. This role serves as a Quorum subject matter expert, focusing on Quorum Accounting and related upstream oil and gas business processes. This position requires deep hands‑on experience supporting Quorum in an oil and gas environment, including ERP administration, user support, troubleshooting, testing, upgrades, reporting support, and business process improvement.
It requires exceptional customer service and strong business analysis skills, and the ability to support both technical and functional needs across Accounting, Land, IT, and other business teams. The role reports to the Director of Information and Technology.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for Quorum Upstream ERP, with a strong focus on Quorum Accounting functionality, configuration, administration, and support.
- Support the broader financial application portfolio, including but not limited to Quorum Accounting, Quorum Land, Open Invoice, Open Ticket, 1099 Pro, Assent 143, M-Files, Unit 3 and Energy Link.
- Perform ongoing administration, maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting, and user support for Quorum and related financial applications.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Land Administration, IT, and other business teams to understand business processes and ensure Quorum is configured and supported appropriately.
- Resolve application issues through the helpdesk process, ensuring root cause, business impact, resolution steps, and knowledge documentation are fully captured.
- Provide functional and technical guidance to business users on Quorum processes, transactions, error messages, workflows, and reporting needs.
- Coordinate testing, validation, and deployment of Quorum maintenance updates, releases, enhancements, and major version upgrades in accordance with IT change management standards.
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into system configuration, enhancement requests, reporting needs, process improvements, or vendor support items.
- Collaborate with software vendors, consultants, staff augmentation partners, and internal teams to troubleshoot issues and deliver system improvements.
- Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, job aids, and knowledge base articles related to Quorum and other supported applications.
- Conduct end‑user training and provide ongoing coaching to improve user adoption, process consistency, and business self‑sufficiency.
- Assist with reporting needs by helping users understand available data, system capabilities, and appropriate reporting paths.
- Support special IT and business application projects aimed at improving financial, accounting, land, and operational business processes.
- Participate in system audits, access reviews, controls testing, and compliance‑related activities as needed.
- Be available for critical application or business‑impacting system issues that may arise outside normal business hours.
- Perform other IT and business application support duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, management information systems or computer science, Business, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience performing administration, maintenance, configuration, and support of Quorum ERP software suite is mandatory.
- A minimum of 5 years of oil & gas industry experience required.
- Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas accounting processes and related ERP workflows.
- Experience supporting financial applications, accounting systems, land systems, invoice systems, document management systems, and related business applications.
- Ability to act as a functional bridge between business teams, IT, software vendors, and implementation partners.
- Experience supporting implementations, upgrades, enhancements, testing cycles, issue resolution, and production support.
- Strong understanding of IT change management, application lifecycle management, and business requirements documentation.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across support, projects, enhancements, upgrades, and business requests.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and document clear resolutions.
- Motivated self‑starter who can work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences at multiple levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high‑quality work.
