Pay Range: $55 - $60/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities- Team Evolution: Coach the Scrum Team toward high performance by identifying strengths and employing advanced coaching techniques to bridge gaps.
- Servant Leadership: Act as a servant leader, removing impediments and shielding the team from external distractions to ensure a sustainable pace.
- Mindset Shift: Motivate the team to move beyond "doing" Agile to "being" Agile, leading critical thinking exercises and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strategic Influence: Work with stakeholders and other Scrum Masters to influence organizational decision‑making and support cross‑functional product goals.
- Event Facilitation: Expertly facilitate Scrum events (Planning, Daily Stand‑up, Review, Retrospective) and lead quarterly PI Planning sessions.
- Operational Excellence: Promote best practices within tools like Jira, Confluence, and Miro to ensure transparency and seamless collaboration.
- The "Anti‑Project Manager": You understand that Scrum and Project Management are distinct disciplines. You lead through influence and empowerment, not command and control.
- Houston‑Based: You are local to the Houston area and value the energy of in‑person collaboration when the mission requires it.
- Passionate Builder: You get a "win" from seeing a team become self‑organizing and cross‑functional.
- Clear Communicator: You can navigate difficult conversations and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- 3–5+ years of dedicated Scrum Master experience
- CSM or PSM I/II certification (required)
- SAFe and PI Planning experience
- Hands‑on experience with Jira, Confluence and MS Teams
- Deep knowledge of Scrum theory, practice and guidelines
- Experience with SAFe or PI Planning is highly preferred
- Proficient in Jira, Confluence and MS Teams
