Technical Support Intern - Role Summary
This is a fully onsite technical support internship located at our Houston office. The internship lasts approximately 2 months or longer, depending on project progress. The intern will work 20‑25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The role focuses on support for a partner migration project, including device handling, inventory tracking and basic deployment support. A lunch and transportation allowance will be provided.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities- Learn and understand the basic characteristics and use cases of common payment terminals and PIN pads (PAX, Dejavoo, Valor, etc.) to support inventory and deployment operations.
- Assist with large‑scale terminal reprogramming projects related to MID changes and account migrations.
- Support inventory management in the Houston office, including tracking device status, serial numbers, and movement.
- Become familiar with device‑related CRM and internal systems, and assist with simple deployment and replacement requests.
- Learn the basic operation and configuration of payment devices, and help with entry‑level troubleshooting tasks.
- Assist in processing merchant applications and entering client information into internal systems.
- Provide technical assistance for inbound questions related to terminal hardware under supervision.
- Help ensure deployment tasks are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Must be authorized to work in the US at the time of hire. We are an E‑Verify employer.
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin‑Chinese is required, both written and verbal.
- Must be currently pursuing or have graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a STEM field.
- Strong ownership mindset with a proactive, can‑do attitude.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, operational environment.
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn technical concepts.
- Able to take initiative and solve problems with guidance.
- Detail‑oriented and able to complete tasks before deadlines.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in MS Excel and Word (tracking, documentation, basic reporting).
This is an unpaid internship. A lunch and transportation allowance will be provided.
