Application Support Engineer

We are looking for an Application Support Engineer to provide dependable technical support for business applications and end-user systems in Houston, Texas. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who combines strong troubleshooting ability with hands-on experience across hardware, directory services, and network-connected environments. The role will focus on maintaining application performance, resolving user issues efficiently, and supporting a stable technology experience across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and resolve application incidents by diagnosing software, hardware, and access-related issues in a timely manner.
• Support user account administration and permissions management within Active Directory to ensure secure and reliable system access.
• Provide hands-on assistance with Dell Technologies hardware, including setup, troubleshooting, and coordination of repairs or replacements when needed.
• Monitor application behavior and system performance to identify recurring problems and recommend practical improvements.
• Partner with internal technical teams to address connectivity, infrastructure, and Cisco-based environment issues that affect application availability.
• Document support activities, root causes, and resolution steps to improve knowledge sharing and service consistency.
• Assist with software deployments, updates, and configuration changes while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
• Communicate clearly with users and stakeholders regarding issue status, expected timelines, and recommended next steps.
