Job Title:SAP Fico Consultant
Location:Houston TX Hybrid - 2 days on site per week
Type:3+ months
Looking for an experienced SAP FI/CO Consultant with strong expertise in SAP ECC and S/4
HANA, specializing in financial processes, controlling, and profitability analysis. This is a contract role focused on stabilization of the SAP ECC environment, delivering improvements to financial controls, costing structures, and reporting. The role requires a hands-on consultant capable of implementing changes and delivering tangible outcomes within a short timeframe.
- Strong experience with GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Controlling
- Hands-on experience with COPA and profitability analysis
- Experience with cost centre accounting and product costing
- Ability to simplify financial structures (profit centres, reporting hierarchies)
- Experience implementing financial controls (e.g. journal approvals, SoD alignment)
- Integration knowledge with SAP MM, SD, and PP modules
- Coordination with technical teams for enhancements, interfaces, and reports
- Troubleshooting issues and providing root cause analysis with timely resolution
- Preparation of Functional Specifications, Test Scripts, and User Training Documents
- Strong functional knowledge of SAP FI/CO configuration and business processes
- Hands-on ECC configuration experience
- Experience in stabilisation, optimisation, or transformation projects
- Good understanding of financial governance and control processes
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Exposure to S/4
HANA Finance and Universal Journal - SAP FI/CO Certification (preferred)
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to lead discussions and requirement-gathering workshops
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
- Good documentation and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field
- 8+ years of SAP FI/CO experience
- Experience in global or multi-country SAP environments
