What will I be doing?

  • Data Collection & Integrity:
    Gather, clean, and validate data from a variety of sources to ensure its accuracy and integrity.
  • Data Analysis & Insights:
    Perform detailed statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Reporting & Visualization:
    Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with business units to understand data needs and provide analytical support to improve organizational processes.
  • SQL & Data Management:
    Write and maintain SQL queries, scripts, and data pipelines to automate reporting and data extraction tasks.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    Track key performance indicators and assist in the development of performance dashboards aligned with agency goals.
  • Data Governance & Documentation:
    Help define data standards, ensure governance compliance, and document data processes.
  • Task Automation:
    Automate repetitive tasks using tools like Microsoft Power Automate, Power Shell, Python, and other technologies.
  • Training & Support:
    Provide training and support for staff on analytical tools and automation workflows.
  • System Integration:
    Work on integrating automation and analytics workflows with existing systems like Microsoft 365, Asana, and other business applications.
  • Continuous Learning:
    Stay up-to-date on new data analysis methods, automation tools, and industry best practices to continuously improve processes and tools.

Key Qualifications

  • Technical Expertise:
    Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Data Analysis:
    Strong ability to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.
  • Programming

    Skills:

    Familiarity with statistical programming languages such as Python or R is a plus.
  • Business Insight:
    Ability to translate complex business problems into data solutions and communicate findings to a broad audience.
  • Data Infrastructure:
    Experience with data warehousing and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes is preferred.
  • Automation Tools:
    Experience with task automation platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, Power Shell, or Python) is a plus.
  • Collaboration:

    Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, providing data-driven support to meet business needs.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data in an easily digestible format.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Strong analytical thinking with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
  • Teamwork & Independence:
    Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently, ensuring progress and deadlines are met efficiently.

Do you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study
  • 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
