Analytics Engineer

Description

Key Responsibilities

+ Design, develop, and maintain scalable data models, staging layers, and curated datasets within a modern cloud-based data environment.

+ Build and support enterprise reporting solutions, including semantic models, metrics, dashboards, and self-service analytics capabilities.

+ Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate complex business processes into well-structured analytical solutions.

+ Monitor and support scheduled data integration processes, report refreshes, and related data workflows.

+ Troubleshoot data quality, reporting, and pipeline issues while identifying opportunities for process improvement.

+ Create and maintain documentation for datasets, metrics, reporting logic, and data lineage.

+ Promote data quality standards, modeling best practices, and governance principles across the analytics environment.

+ Continuously identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance data accessibility.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

+ Strong experience developing business intelligence and analytics solutions using Power BI or similar reporting platforms.

+ Advanced understanding of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.

+ Experience creating semantic models, relationships, calculated measures, and business-focused reporting structures.

+ Strong SQL development skills, including complex queries, CTEs, window functions, data transformations, and multi-source integration.

+ Ability to work directly with business users to define requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

+ Understanding of data governance, data quality, and reporting best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Experience working with ERP, financial, operational, or enterprise business systems as data sources.

+ Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes and modern data integration tools.

+ Exposure to cloud-based analytics and data platform technologies.

+

Experience with source control tools and collaborative development practices.

+ Basic Python skills for data preparation, automation, or analysis.

+ Knowledge of modern data platform concepts including lakehouse architectures, dataflows, and cloud analytics services.

Education & Background

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

+ 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, data analytics, or a similar data-focused role.

+ Proven experience building scalable reporting and analytics solutions within an enterprise environment.
