Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize an on-premises Microsoft SQL Server environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, security, and reliability, while also supporting SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with database administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in a production on‑prem environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer, monitor, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases in an on‑premises environment
- Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server instances
- Manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability processes
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning improvements for queries, indexes, and server resources
- Develop, deploy, and support SSRS reports for business and operational reporting needs
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot SSIS packages for ETL and data integration processes
- Ensure database security, including user access, roles, permissions, and compliance with internal policies
- Troubleshoot database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner
- Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and business users to support database‑related initiatives
- Maintain documentation for database configurations, maintenance schedules, and support procedures
- Support data migrations, refreshes, and deployments across development, test, and production environments
- 5+ years of experience as a SQL DBA or in a similar database administration role
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration in an on‑premises environment
- Hands‑on experience with SSRS and SSIS
- Experience with SQL Server backup/recovery, maintenance plans, and performance tuning
- Strong knowledge of T‑SQL, stored procedures, jobs, and indexing strategies
- Experience with database security and user administration
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database and ETL/reporting issues independently
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
- Experience with SQL Server Agent, replication, clustering, or Always On Availability Groups
- Familiarity with change management and production support processes
- Experience supporting ERP or business‑critical applications
- Knowledge of scripting/automation using Power Shell or similar tools
