Description:
Provides assistance and expertise in various areas of research such as calibration of instrumentation, equipment maintenance andrepair, preparation of samples for testing, monitoring of safety equipment and procedures, development and fabrication of prototype equipment, recording of test results, and basic analyses ofdata.
- 1. Ensures experiments are preformed according to specification.
- 2. May make practical technical recommendations to changes in procedures, equipment, or prototype design.
- 3. Applies basic skill and develops advanced skills.
- 4. Often assists with, and may perform, some advanced functions.
- 5. Solves most routine problems while referring more complex questions to higher levels.
- 6. Receives direct supervision but is expected to select from avariety of standard procedures to complete tasks.
The Digital Humanities Core (DHC) facility Research Technician 2will work to manage and support a variety of digital technologies with the goal of maintaining an effective development environment and publishing platform for UH students and research projects.
Applicant would work with members of the DHC in the research,development, and programming for elements of the digital scholarship, asset allocations and capacity infrastructures(Reclaim Hosting and Reclaim Cloud). Applicant will also support programming pertinent to cloud, web, scripted languages, UX/UI and mediated digital assets in the Digital Research Commons (DRC), the Visualization Theater and the HPE-DSI DHC Micro-credentialing program.
- Demonstrated information technology experience in applications,infrastructure, and development preferred to manage and support cloud and web hosting platforms.
- Experience with containerized applications, LAMP and cloud hosting preferred.
- Experience with Python, R and scripting languages and applications related to topic modeling. LLMs and OCR processing
- Experience with aspects of Digital Media including UX/UI research and design to support the digital work of UH stakeholders
- Coordinate key support aspects of the Micro-credentialing in the Digital Humanities program, including application processes;curriculum programming; and content delivery on our Moodleenterprise site;
- Experience with web hosting infrastructure is not required but encouraged.
Experience will be considered in lieu of education.

MQ:
Associate's Degree with 6 months experience.
