Job Title:
SCADA Applications Analyst Sr - Cyg Net
The IT Applications Analyst Sr (SCADA) is responsible for providing business, technical, and analytical support for Apache SCADA applications. The role will focus on maintaining, supporting and ensuring SCADA system integrity in a rapidly changing, integrated environment. This position requires a motivated individual with leadership ability, project management skills, strong analytical expertise, and solid written and verbal communications skills.
- Provide day-to-day application support, administration, and technical expertise for the Cyg Net SCADA platform and associated operational systems.
- Monitor application health, system performance, interfaces, and data flows to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, integration, communication, and data-related issues within established service level expectations.
- Analyze incidents, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and document resolutions to prevent recurring issues.
- Support Cyg Net upgrades, patches, hotfixes, and system enhancements while minimizing operational impact.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Field Automation, and Infrastructure teams to support business and operational requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize application integrations between Cyg Net and enterprise systems, databases, historians, and reporting platforms.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, system diagrams, operational runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
- Participate in after-hours support, on-call rotations, and incident response activities as required.
- Monitor cybersecurity and compliance requirements for supported applications and coordinate remediation activities when necessary.
- Analyze application performance metrics and recommend improvements to increase system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Review and implement approved change requests following established change management processes.
- Coordinate with software vendors and third-party service providers to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions.
- Assist with project initiatives involving SCADA modernization, infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and operational technology improvements.
- Evaluate new technologies, features, and best practices to enhance Cyg Net platform capabilities and support long-term business objectives.
- Participate in system design reviews and provide recommendations for application architecture, scalability, and supportability.
- Ensure supported systems meet organizational standards for security, availability, reliability and data integrity.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience supporting enterprise applications, with at least 3 years supporting SCADA or industrial control systems.
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting the Cyg Net SCADA platform in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas, utilities, energy, pipeline operations, or other industrial operational environments.
- Experience troubleshooting application, data acquisition, communications, and integration issues across distributed systems.
- Knowledge of Cyg Net architecture, communication protocols, point configuration, alarms, polling strategies, and reporting tools.
- Experience supporting integrations between SCADA systems and enterprise applications, databases, historians, and reporting platforms.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, including database queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Windows Server administration, system monitoring, and application hosting environments.
- Familiarity with industry communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, DNP3, MQTT, or similar technologies.
- Experience working with operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) teams in a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices related to industrial control systems and critical infrastructure.
- Experience supporting software deployments, upgrades, patches, and change management processes.
