University of Houston is hiring a Classroom A/V Tech to maintain, install, and troubleshoot audio-visual and classroom technology across campus. The role often works with minimal supervision and can function in a highly skilled technical capacity, covering everything from equipment repair to network device support.
Highlights- Analyzes and repairs audio-visual equipment to keep classrooms running smoothly
- Reads and interprets equipment schematic diagrams and CAD drawings
- Trains and leads student workers on AV systems
- Assists with purchasing and commissioning new technology
- Loads code or firmware and supports testing and updates on network devices
- Acts as first responder for reported technical issues
- Handles regular maintenance and modification of equipment
- Tracks incidents, opening and closing support tickets
- Requires an associate's degree or equivalent technical certification and six months of related experience
- Pays $45,100 annually
