Position Summary:
The SAB primarily assists the broker team by marketing both basic and complex submissions/accounts, servicing active and expired policy files, and meeting day‑to‑day needs of retail clients; all in accordance with Brown & Riding values, goals, and procedures.
- Manage marketing of both basic and complex accounts: prepare submissions, approach carriers for quotes, negotiate coverage; require little to no support from senior team members for basic accounts and majority of complex accounts.
- Meet and exceed client expectations during the submission process by managing coverage goals, priorities, and overall expectations.
- Solicit timely and substantive responses to submissions and effectively negotiate pricing and terms with underwriters, providing frequent and transparent updates to clients.
- Gather and develop complete loss summaries and analysis as needed.
- Prepare high‑quality, error‑free submissions and present this information to underwriters verbally and in written form.
- Identify and correct inconsistencies or errors in relevant documents and promptly correct/clarify with client or underwriter.
- Ensure the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of quotes, bind, checklists, and other marketing file documentation for accounts handled or overseen.
- Meet quality measurement goals and procedures in accordance with the internal Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
- Ensure all transactions comply with regulatory requirements and company policies, maintaining accurate records.
- Facilitate clear communication of coverage terms and other information between clients and underwriters, ensuring delivered policy aligns with client expectations.
- Independently initiate, maintain, and enhance relationships with carriers, including regular in‑person contact.
- Provide training and ongoing guidance to Production Assistants, Production Associates, and/or Associate Brokers, supporting their professional growth.
- Work closely with Broker to identify projects where skills, experience, and knowledge can be utilized effectively.
- Perform other work‑related duties assigned by broker and/or management.
- Maintain and enhance relationships with retail clients, including some in‑person contact, typically accompanied by broker or senior team members.
- Minimum 3 to 8 years of relevant insurance experience.
- Property & Casualty and Surplus Lines licenses (as required by state).
- Exceptional organizational, follow‑up, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional analytical skills to define problems, gather and interpret data, establish facts, and draw conclusions efficiently.
- Proactive problem‑solving approach and willingness to support others.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to interact and adapt to diverse personalities and communication styles.
- Flexible work schedule and ability to adapt to changing demands.
- Independent time management with minimal supervision.
- Intermediate PC software skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Physical requirements:
normal office environment; limited travel may be required.
