We are hiring for both Associate General Adjuster and General Adjuster roles covering Texas and surrounding regions.
Associate General Adjuster (CL08EE) – $85,200 – $127,800
The successful Associate General Adjuster candidate will plan, recommend, reserve and execute the investigation, valuation, disposition and settlement of large personal insurance property claims in a manner consistent with corporate claim settlement policies and procedures and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements throughout the United States as applicable. The role focuses on Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana, with additional regional support as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Achieving fair, equitable, and timely claim dispositions and accurately assessing indemnity and expense exposure of assigned claims.
- Reporting to a Property Major Case Manager and operating in a collaborative team environment.
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with other team members and business partners.
Qualifications:
- Must have 3+ years’ experience as a full-file Claim Property Adjuster managing moderately severe property claims.
- Strong functional knowledge of residential claims, with the ability to appropriately interpret and apply insurance coverage.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Consistent high level of performance and achievement over career span.
- Cost estimation proficiency using Xactimate and computer competencies.
- Good working knowledge of regional jurisdictional issues.
- Disciplined time management and organizational skills with the ability to function in a self-reliant manner.
- Availability for nationwide catastrophe operations as necessary.
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
- Ideal candidate resides in Texas (Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas preferred).

The successful General Adjuster candidate will plan, recommend, reserve and execute the investigation, valuation, disposition and settlement of large personal insurance property claims in a manner consistent with corporate claim settlement policies and procedures and statutory, regulatory and ethics requirements throughout the United States as applicable. In addition to managing claims, this role will mentor Associate General Adjusters and Property Damage Adjusters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Achieving fair, equitable, and timely claim dispositions and accurately assessing indemnity and expense exposure of assigned claims.
- Reporting to a Property Major Case Manager and operating in a collaborative team environment.
- Providing mentorship to junior adjusters.
- Primary territory includes Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana, with additional regional support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must have 5+ years’ experience as a full-file Claim Adjuster for complex property losses exceeding $300,000 in value.
- Strong functional knowledge of residential claims, with the ability to appropriately interpret and apply insurance coverage.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Consistent high level of performance and achievement over career span.
- Cost estimation proficiency using Xactimate and computer competencies.
- Good working knowledge of regional jurisdictional issues.
- Disciplined time management and organizational skills with the ability to function in a self-reliant manner.
- Availability for nationwide catastrophe operations as necessary.
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
- Ideal candidate resides in Texas (Houston, Austin, San Antonio, or Dallas preferred).
The listed annualized base pay ranges vary by role based on experience and are supported by performance, proficiency, and demonstrated competencies. Base pay is one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package, including short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. Annual base pay ranges are:
- Associate General Adjuster: $85,200 – $127,800
- General Adjuster: $108,000 – $162,000
