Job DescriptionResponsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex Homeowner's Claims. Determines coverage, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. Responsible for creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for the most complex first party homeowner claims leading to the proper disposition. This role is utilized as peer mentor and may assign direction to more junior employees, having mastered our processes and obtained technical expertise.
NationalGeneral is seeking an Experienced Field Property Adjuster to handle complex homeowner property claims throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area.
In this role, you will investigate losses, determine coverage, assess damages, prepare detailed repair estimates, and negotiate claim settlements while delivering exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling residential property claims, writing Xactimate estimates, conducting on-site inspections, and managing complex first-party homeowner losses. This position also serves as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced adjusters.
Preferred Experience- Residential property claims handling
- Writing and reviewing Xactimate repair estimates
- First-party homeowner claims investigations
- Coverage analysis and damage assessment
- Negotiating claim settlements and managing complex losses
- Strong customer communication and relationship-building skills
- Prior field adjusting experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth market preferred
- Exhibits mastery estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities
- Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers
- Interprets regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files
- Applies mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assists leadership in formal and ad hoc training
- Recommends process improvements
This job does not have supervisory duties.

As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team. CompensationBase compensation offered for this role is $65,600 - $111,550 annually.
And is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) if applicable for the role.
