Our teams provide Inland Marine, Ocean Cargo, and Marine Liability solutions for businesses of all sizes, from domestic operations to complex multinational organizations, helping clients protect their assets and manage risk across land, sea, and international borders.

How you will make an Impact

AIG’s Summer Interns are immersed in the day-to-day operations of a fast-moving, global insurance company. During the 9-week program, you will gain valuable, hands‑on experience and insurance industry knowledge, working with leaders on dynamic projects, with plenty of opportunity for challenges, learning and achievement.

Summer Interns join one of our key business teams, which offers a unique opportunity to obtain core technical knowledge and professional skills in a diverse environment. In addition to meaningful on-the-job experiences, interns will join instructor‑led masterclasses, hear directly from senior leaders, and build meaningful connections through mentoring circles, networking events and volunteering.

Following completion of the internship program, interns may be considered for a role in the location where they completed their internship, with the Analyst program beginning in July 2028.

Responsibilities
  • Support the evaluation and underwriting of risks across Inland Marine, Ocean Cargo, Marine Liability, and related specialty products.
  • Review underwriting submissions, exposure information, loss history, and other relevant data to support risk selection, pricing, and coverage decisions.
  • Partner with underwriters, risk consultants, claims professionals, and multinational specialists to develop tailored insurance solutions.
  • Build relationships with brokers and clients while supporting new business, renewals, and profitable portfolio growth.
  • Analyze market trends and emerging risks related to transportation, global trade, and commerce to support underwriting decisions.
  • Develop technical knowledge of marine insurance while building analytical, decision‑making, and relationship‑management skills.
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than June 2028 (unofficial transcript required upon application).
Program Requirements
  • Available for the complete Summer Internship Program from June 7 through August 6, 2027.
  • Summer Intern positions are in‑person opportunities, requiring interns to work in the office at least four days per week.

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred majors include Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
